Via Studio

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 16 August 2026

Your files stay private. Via Studio performs file compression, conversion, duplicate detection, and similar-photo analysis on your device. Via Studio does not upload your selected files, file contents, thumbnails, or locally generated file fingerprints to our servers.

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Via Studio mobile application (the “App,” “Via Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) accesses, uses, shares, and protects information. Via Studio provides on-device file utilities and does not require users to create an account.

2. Files and media processed on your device

When you choose an image, PDF, video, folder, or photo library, the App accesses only the content needed to perform the action you requested, subject to the access granted by your operating system.

  • Images, PDFs, and videos selected for compression or conversion are processed locally.
  • Exact duplicate detection reads files from a folder you select and compares file size, hashes, and file content locally.
  • Similar-photo detection creates compact visual signatures locally and may cache them on your device to avoid analyzing unchanged photos again.
  • Temporary output files are created locally so you can preview, save, or share a result.
  • Files selected for deletion are deleted only after your explicit selection and confirmation, including any confirmation required by the operating system.

We do not receive or store these files on a Via Studio server.

3. Permissions and device access

Via Studio requests access only when you start a feature that needs it. Depending on your device and the feature, this may include access to selected files, a selected folder, your photo library, or permission to save or delete media. You can deny or revoke permissions through your device settings, although the related feature may then be unavailable.

4. Analytics and diagnostics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand general feature usage and improve the App. We use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes, application errors, and performance problems. Depending on the service and device settings, these services may process information such as app interactions, device and operating-system information, app version, diagnostic data, crash traces, and identifiers used by the service.

We do not intentionally send filenames, file paths, file contents, thumbnails, hashes, or media metadata to Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics. Core file utilities remain designed to work without these services being continuously available.

5. Advertising

The free version of Via Studio uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, IP address, general device information, ad interactions, and consent choices to provide, measure, limit, and protect advertising, subject to applicable law and your settings.

Where required, Via Studio presents Google’s consent message before requesting ads. Users who purchase an eligible Premium subscription or lifetime product do not receive ads while their entitlement is active.

6. Purchases

Subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple’s App Store. We receive product and entitlement information needed to provide Premium access, but we do not receive or store your full payment-card details. The store provider handles payment information under its own privacy policy.

7. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers used to operate the App, including Google Firebase, Google AdMob and its consented advertising partners, Google Play, and Apple’s App Store. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, rights, safety, and the integrity of the App.

8. Retention and deletion

Temporary outputs and local scan caches are stored only on your device. You can remove saved outputs using your device’s file or photo tools. Local App data and cached signatures can be removed by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App. Files that you intentionally save may remain until you delete them.

Analytics, diagnostics, advertising, and transaction records processed by third-party providers are retained according to their policies and configured retention periods. Via Studio does not provide user accounts and therefore does not maintain an account database for users.

9. Security

Via Studio limits file access to the functions you request and uses operating-system storage and permission controls. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but keeping file processing on your device reduces unnecessary transfer of your personal files.

10. Children’s privacy

Via Studio is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Advertising availability and treatment may vary according to store declarations, applicable law, and Google’s policies.

11. Your privacy choices

You can manage file and photo permissions through your device settings. Where required, the App provides a “Privacy and cookie settings” option that allows you to reopen the advertising privacy message and change or revoke your consent choices. You may also manage advertising and privacy controls through your Google or Apple account and device settings.

12. International processing

Third-party services may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing is subject to their privacy policies and applicable safeguards.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Via Studio, its service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date above and publish the revised policy at this URL.
